On a mostly organic farm at the southernmost part of the Big Island of Hawaii, with native forest on all sides, I am fortunate to be able to spend my time studying nature, gardening, caring for farm animals and plants, writing and creating art. I live with my husband Jay, our three-legged dog Trekker, 9 sheep and some 20 chickens and ducks. Our three children have gone on to lives of their own. They have added 5 wonderful grandchildren to our lives.

I have been drawing and painting since I was a child. My Mother, Donna Fairman, is a prolific porcelain artist and I looked over her shoulder most of my young life. I grew up in the Sierra Nevada foothills of California with Sequoia National Park close to my backyard and the Kaweah river running through our property. This wilderness setting offered many days of carefree play and a close association with the natural world and the Creator. I still draw on this connection and continual fascination with nature for my creativity.

My current mediums of choice are watercolor, colored pencil, acrylic and pen and ink. Around Hawaii, you can see my work at Volcano Art Center in Volcano, Gallery of Great Things in Waimea, and Fashion Consignment Studio, also in Waimea. A 12 foot by 43 foot mural depicting Waiohinu between 1865 and 1895, can also be seen on the south side of the Wong Yuen Store in Waiohinu town in Kau.
